i.safe MOBILE et Nokia annoncent un partenariat international

Two market leaders combine their expertise by creating an international partnership. i.safe MOBILE, a world leader in innovative ATEX mobile solutions, and Nokia, a world leader in the manufacturing of mobile phones, have announced their partnership.

Nokia supports industrial companies in their digital transformation by providing network infrastructure, connected devices and solutions. In hazardous areas, it is essential that workers use ATEX certified devices.

Le 5G smartphone IS540.x i.safe MOBILE will be integrated into Nokia’s industry-leading digitalization platform and its Nokia Private Wireless application.

Following this international partnership, Nokia will expand its industrial device portfolio with i.safe MOBILE products to meet the connectivity needs of businesses, including those in the chemical, pharmaceutical and mining sectors.

The IS540.1 and IS540.2 are the world's first 5G smartphones ATEX and IECEx Zone 1/21 or Zone 2/22 certified. Both awarded the prestigious Red Dot Design Award, they are now part of the Nokia End-to-End Solutions application.

Martin Beltrop, head of industrial devices at Nokia Enterprise Campus Edge Solutions, said:
“For Nokia, it is essential that we can provide our customers with reliable ATEX smartphones as part of our Nokia One end-to-end platform for industrial digitalization. They rely on us to equip their workers with premium, certified smart smartphones to work safely in hazardous environments. By partnering with i.safe MOBILE, the undisputed leader in this field, we can offer certified rugged phones as part of our global digital platform.”

Nokia offers ATEX phones and smartphones via the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) platform in an as-a-Service (aaS) subscription model. Application bundles include Nokia Industrial Device Management, which allows administrators to remotely manage devices and apply group policies to extend equipment management across their entire fleet, as well as Nokia Team Comms and Nokia Network Digital Twin. In the future, Nokia will add other device types to the aaS management model.

The IS540.x delivers best-in-class performance and is compatible with most global LTE/5G bands. This rugged smartphone is equipped with artificial intelligence. Additionally, this device integrates a 48 MP and 5 MP rear camera that guarantees the highest quality photography. This rugged smartphone is IP68, MIl-STD 810H certified. It has two programmable keys to associate them with different functions, for example, the side key can have the Push To Talk function and the red key for lone worker protection.

Android Enterprise Recommended ensures that the IS540.X is compatible with other Mobile Device Management (MDM) applications to manage a fleet of devices. The Zero-touch deployment option is also available. It allows devices to be automatically integrated into MDM systems without the need for IT intervention. This option is very popular with fleet managers.

Martin Haaf, CEO of i.safe MOBILE, says:

“We are pleased to support Nokia with our latest 5G developments thanks to our decades of expertise in manufacturing explosion-proof mobile phones. Combining our devices with Nokia solutions offers businesses great added value in their digitalization journey.”
