Today, October 13, 2022, the Ministry of the Interior and Overseas Territories has chosen this consortium as the integrator for lot 2 of the Future Radio Network (RRF).
The countdown has begun: a first version of this mission-critical, secure and resilient high-speed network, designed specifically for emergency and internal security forces, should be operational in a year and a half. " [The first version] will be applied for the hosting of the Olympic Games in Paris “, in 2024, assured the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin during a press conference.
Estimated at 750 million euros, the RRF will operate using the infrastructures of the mobile network operators Orange and Bouygues Telecom 4G and 5G. The RRF will allow the 400 users of the National Gendarmerie, the National Police, the Fire Brigade and other Civil Security personnel to communicate instantly with each other while benefiting from numerous features: Push-To-Talk voice radio communications, real-time document sharing, geolocation, use of business applications, etc.
Guillaume Faury, President of Airbus: "The Airbus Group is proud of the renewed confidence of the Ministry of the Interior. The Group will thus continue to put its innovative power and skills at the service of the Ministry of the Interior in order to offer a unique solution to France and meet the needs of the French security forces, in the short and long term. We will thus be mobilized alongside users to deploy our know-how and support them in the progressive deployment of these new technologies in the coming years."
Aiman Ezzat, Chief Executive Officer of Capgemini Group: "We are proud to become the trusted partner of the French State for this major project. RRF will be an essential point of passage for the operational efficiency of the security forces and the future uses of digital technology. It is an element of national sovereignty and the starting point of a European sector of excellence. Capgemini is a key player for a critical project of this dimension and complexity, given its experience, its industrial capacity and its unique expertise in the field of secure networks, telecoms and 5G."
Thus, equipped with a terminal suitable for field use and operating on a secure and more efficient next-generation network, security and emergency actors will be better equipped to ensure the continuity of communications and carry out their critical missions both on a daily basis and in the event of a crisis or major event.
